First I painted the yellow and while that was drying painted the pink, then the beige, grey and black. By painting every other color on the shoe I avoided having to wait for each color to completely dry before doing the next. Once the yellow is completely dry pull the tongue of the shoe out one side at a time to paint thoroughly without getting the inside of the shoe painted.
Make sure to wrap each color around the top inside seam so that when the shoes are warn they look completely painted. I used my Cricut cutter to cut Mrs. Nelson out of vinyl and use as a stencil. After the paint has completely dried coat the shoes with Scotchgard so seal the paint for a longer lasting shoe. I did two coats for extra coverage.
